THE SET UP
HERE IT IS ... FALCONRY AT FIRST HAND
Our team will bring a long a cadge (pictured above). This is a medieval method of tethering falcons and hawks - it provides a great exhibit for people to admire. This can be set up indoors or outside, totally your choice, each works as well. On this perch will be placed 4 falcons from the team. They will then sit on the perch, immaculately presented, throughout the duration when not being handled.
Your guests will be encouraged to have a go at holding one of the birds. A leather gauntlet will be passed over to the volunteer and a bird will be placed on it, by the experienced falconer. All ages within reason can hold one of the birds and learn a lot about each of the birds, whilst doing so.
Cameras will be coming out from everyones pockets trying to capture a unique photo of their loved one holding one of these creatures - a great 'momento'. As said before on the home page, these birds have been raised, from a very young age to undertake this indoors or outside. The birds are selected specially for this service - we certainly would not be bringing a bird that we thought may be nervous - we love them too much!
The falcons will be wearing a hood on their heads the majority of the time, whilst on the perch. This is a traditional technique, throughout falconry and keeps the falcons calm, whilst in close contact with each other . The hood is then taken off for photos, where suitable.
Obviously the birds are not there just for the guests, they are also there for you - more so! A selection of wedding photos to remember can be captured - very unique photos to be in your album!
This package works really well during a drinks reception!
